夏を楽しむカラフルなアイスキャンディー

水玉模様が可愛い！大阪名物「北極」のアイスキャンディー。

じりじりと暑い夏、コンビニに入ってつい手に取ってしまうのは、冷たいアイスキャンディー。アイスクリームよりも、ちょっとスッキリとした味わいが夏にピッタリで、気軽に食べれるところもまた嬉しい。定番のミルクやソーダはもちろん、果肉入りのものやスイカの形をしたものなど、種類も豊富で、パッケージも面白い！今日のPingMagでは様々なアイスキャンディーを紹介します。

そもそもアイスキャンディーは、殆どの酪農生産物が軍用物資となって消えた太平洋戦争の後、アイスクリームに代わって登場したことがはじまりだそう。その頃は、水と甘味料のみを混ぜたものに割り箸をさして凍らせる簡単なものだったが、甘いものが少ない当時の人々にとっては、とても喜ばしい存在だった。1952年になると、水と甘味料以外にもミルクを混ぜたものが登場。それからというもの今日では、驚く程様々なアイスキャンディーが店頭に並んでいる。

左から定番の井村屋「あずきバー」、パステルカラーの森永「カラフル・ラムネバー メロンソーダ」、きれいな紫色一色、自信溢れるパッケージは松崎冷菓工業の「自家製あん あずきバー」、そして真っ赤な色が目を惹くロッテ「雪印練乳ミルクバー」。

ヘルシー系

夏になると、店頭にはフルーツの果肉入りなど、さっぱりとしたタイプのアイスキャンディーが多くなる。アンデイコのトロピカルな「くだもの＆野菜」、お菓子のハイレモンのパッケージをそのまま活かした明治「ハイレモン アイスバー」、パイナップルの果汁とたっぷりの果肉が入った赤城乳業の「ガツンとパイン」などは、いかにもビタミンCが多そうな健康的なイメージ！草原の景色がお腹にも優しそうなセブンイレブンのオリジナル「ヨーグルト味バー」は、お財布にも優しい驚きの62円！…とヘルシー系だけでも、種類は沢山。

当たりつき

日本の代表的なアイスキャンディーと言えば、やはり赤城乳業の「ガリガリ君」。今年で誕生25周年目を迎えるガリガリ君は、いつの時代も根強いファンを持ち、何と言っても、元気いっぱいのキャラクターがインパクト大！オフィシャル・ホームページには、あの独得なガリガリする食感や、鮮やかなアイスの水色、元気なキャラクターは、遊び心を大切にし、子供が喜ぶ夢いっぱいのアイスをという願いから生まれたもの、という素敵な記述が！

イメージとパッケージが見事にマッチ！今年もガリガリいきたい！

最近のガリガリ君は、梨、パイナップル、チョコレートなど、味の種類も豊富！けれど、やはり一番の楽しみは、食べ終えた棒に「当たり」のマークがあるかどうかを確認すること。以前は「当たり」が出たら、アイスを一本と無料で交換できたが、今は代わりにオリジナル・デザインTシャツや携帯ストラップなどが貰えるようになった。

当たりつきといえば、メイトーこと協同乳業の「ホームランバー」も忘れてはいけない！このアイスキャンディーの登場は、殆どの子供達が野球選手になることを夢見ていた、50年ほど前のこと。そのネーミングや、野球ボールなどの絵柄が入ったデザインには、子供なら誰もが心を奪われたもの。今でも銀紙に包まれたパッケージは当時のままで、昔同様、バーに「ホームラン」の文字が出れば、その場でアイスが一本貰えるようになっている！

お土産として

大阪名物「北極」は、お土産としても人気高い関西発のアイスキャンディー。創業してからアイス一筋、60年以上にもなる同名の会社は、昔ながら手作りの味が、今でも多くの人々に愛されている。もうひとつの魅力でもあるパッケージには、鮮やかなドットが施され、中央にはトレードマークのペンギンもポイントとして入っている。

とにかく可愛い！袋も箱も素朴で素敵なデザイン！棒には檜を使うこだわりよう！

同じく大阪からは551蓬莱のアイスキャンディー。こちらも中身が見える透明のパッケージで、特に大きく描かれたシロクマのイラストがかなり印象的。やはり爽涼感をもたらせるためには、寒い場所に生息する動物が効果大！

ミルクに小豆、チョコレートなど味の種類も沢山！アイスを詰める赤い箱にも、シロクマの絵が薄らと入っている。

和風アイスキャンディー

日本では、抹茶や小豆、きな粉に白玉など、和の素材を使って作られたアイスキャンディーも定番のひとつ。お茶の文化が培われてきた町、京都の人気の和カフェ、京はやしやと共同で作られているサークルKサンクスの「抹茶あずき練乳バー」は、濃厚な抹茶をイメージさせる抹茶色のパッケージが上品さを表現している。その下の丸永製菓の「きなこもち」と「抹茶白玉ぜんざい」は、本物の和菓子の写真や力強い筆の書体などが使われていて、和を強調した大人向けのデザイン！

書体にもこだわったエレガントなパッケージの「抹茶あずき練乳バー」。溢れんばかりの小豆もナイス！大人向け。食べたい方はサンクスへ！

「きなこもち」と「抹茶白玉ぜんざい」。背景に映る美味しそうな和菓子に誘惑されてしまいそう…。

ユニークな形

こちらは、子供達に大人気のロッテの「BIGスイカバー」と「BIGメロンバー」。どちらのパッケージも、夏空の下で採れた色鮮やかなスイカとメロンがモチーフに描かれて、スイカーバーには麦わら帽子を被ったカバの絵も！また、スイカとメロンをそのまま切ったようなアイスキャンディーの形もとてもユニーク！
