指先を彩るネイルアート

着物用に作られた「ゴールド×椿」は、ネイルサロン「1st choice nail」の古川めぐみさんによる作品。

おそらく日本のネイルアート・シーンは、今、どこの国よりも一番勢いがあるのではないだろうか。自分でちょっとした飾りを付けて楽しめるネイル用のシールはどこでも簡単に手に入れることが出来るし、ネイルサロンは街のあちこちに存在する。しかし、そんな中でも小さな付け爪に施されたデザインが美しいネイルチップの数々は、もはや単なるファッション・アイテムという枠を遥かに超えてしまったように思える。今日のPingMagでは、ネイルチップのオンラインショップ「1st Choice Nails」の古川めぐみさんの作品を紹介しながら、女性達を虜にするネイルアートの魅力に迫ってみたい。

多くの女性に愛用されるネイルチップは、付け爪にデザインを施し、ただ貼付けるだけというお手軽なもの。爪の先までオシャレを楽しみたいと願う働く女性や時間に追われる主婦には、かなり重宝されているのだそう。古川さんの作品には、季節感溢れるものやファッションによって選べるようデザインされたものが多いので、まるでアクセサリーのようにネイルチップを付け替えることが出来る。

オーダーメイドの「リアルレース×ホワイトローズ」。結婚式用のネイルチップは、思い出の品として大切にとっておく人もいるそう。

「デザインを考える際、一番多くひらめく場所は大型手芸店です。レースや手芸パーツなどを見ているとイメージが膨らんできます。お客様からデザインの依頼を受けた時は、実際に着用されるドレスや着物などの写真を拝見し、そこからイメージや色、ご希望に合わせて全体のデザインを考えることが多いですね。」（古川さん）


「金魚」。悠々と泳いでいるような金魚の姿や色合いがとても涼しげ。

「ゴールド×赤と黒」。七宝焼のネイルピアスが付いている！

「和柄×紫」。紫の高貴な色を基調とした和風のデザイン。

「ドルフィン」。爽やかなドルフィンのイラスト。

古川さんによると、日本ではよく見る立体的なネイルや和風のデザインは、海外ではまだ珍しいそうで、その繊細な技術に驚く人も多いという。そんな古川さんの作品の特徴は、単にゴージャスなだけでなく、どこかしら品のあるところ。

「ブラック×あじさい」。紫陽花をモチーフにした美しい和風のデザイン。

「今やネイルアートはこうでなければいけないという枠がありません。作品を作る時は、奇抜なデザインや個性的でアーティスティックなデザインより、意外性の中にも視覚的に“かわいい、やってみたい”という女性の心をくすぐるようなデザインを根底に考えています。また男性にも、私が制作するネイルチップをつけた女性を見て、セクシーで可愛らしく洗練された女性だと思っていただけると尚嬉しいです。」（古川さん）

「クリスマス」。色の施しがちょっとサイケデリックなクリスマス用のネイルチップ。

「ゴージャス×シルバー」。シルバーのアクセサリーが沢山付けられたゴージャスなデザイン！

制作のプロセス

立体的なデザインの3Dアートは、ミクスチャーと呼ばれる絵の具に似た材料を素早く爪に乗せ、形作り、乾かすと完成する。花びらなどのデザインを施す際には、初めにパーツを一枚ずつ個別に作り、それらを組み合わせ、最後にネイルチップの上に接着するといった工程で作られる。

「3Dアートの作業には1枚につき3、4分、さらに細かい作業を要する立体3Dアートでは1枚約20分程で完成します。ラインストーンなども乗せた10枚セットのネイルチップで約2時間、デザインの凝ったもので約3時間で仕上げることができます。」（古川さん）

「ピンク×ブラックと桜」は、タイトル通り桜をモチーフにしたネイルチップ。大人っぽさの中にも可愛らしさがある。

「パープル×ピンクの和風」は、いかにも着物に似合いそうな雰囲気。こちらの作品は残念ながら、すでに完売している。

古川さんの話を伺っていると、ネイルアートの虜になる女性は、このような作品を見て創作意欲を掻き立てられるのではないかと感じる。また、ネイルチップを付けるだけで、指先の印象ががらりと変わるところに女性の心理をくすぐる最大の魅力があるのではないだろうか。


「アルミバラ×ブルーグラデ」。シルバーやブルーのバラがいっぱい！

「ネイルアートの魅力は、なんといっても女性が女性らしくいられることです。薄いマニキュアを塗るだけでも自然に指先の使い方が女性らしくなりますよね。私の作るネイルチップを通して、女性がいつまでも女性らしくときめく気持ちのお手伝いをしたいと思っています。」（古川さん）
