Dan Funderburgh is a graphic designer who dedicates a lot of his time and energy to creating patterns, wallpaper and decorative art. Uleshka still dreams of a hero flying from the sky offering her an All-Dan-Wallpaper-interior as a belated Christmas present… Until then, read his original article on PingMag and enjoy his best wishes for the new year!
Dan, how was last year for you (highlights, downers, what did you learn…)?
Last year was a fantastic and nervous year for me. I quit my full time job to focus more on making things I like. Now I play soccer all day and work all night. I haven’t slept since early February 2006. Also I learned that clients only pay several months after they said they would, if at all…
What are you looking forward to in the new year?
Last year was supposed to be a year for history. The learning and drawing of it. I haven’t quite finished with history, so I’m not ready to move on. I’ll let you know when I decide what the “year of the boar” will be about. I have a small series of wallpapers slated to come out with the help of FlavorPaper and a show planned at the Servico Ejecutivo in Brooklyn.
Anything else you’d like to say? Or good wishes for our PingMag readers…?
Thanks for everything! Tell your crew to be easy!
Thank you, Dan!
