Kinga has been on PingMag a couple of times already appearing here and there… She is one of these mystical muses which can’t really be pinned down and yet stays with you for ultimate inspiration. She made some pretty queer Wild Boar drawings for the Chinese zodiac year 2007. Let’s see what this funny lady has to say about the old and the new year today!

Kinga, how would you describe what you do in your own words?
I am a video artist, usually working with image and music, sometimes with other people, sometimes more on a fine art side, sometimes more on a design side. Recently I did a couple of collaborations with the new Polish label King of Kong.

How was last year for you?
One of my last year’s higlights was the trip to Japan and the possibility to work with one of my favourite musicians: Manuel Goettsching. We gave a multimedia concert at the bottom of Mount Fuji. I learned that it’s a long way from Poland to Japan and that the heavy jetlag is a very unique and special experience worth going through!
Last year I also learned how to use and create my own myspace and revaluate the value of true friedship.
On an idealistic level I figured out a future vision of video art and even gave a lecture about this prophecy: it will be colorful, joyful & goofy!
About downers last year… uh - scary! Let’s forget about it and drink some champagne!!

What are you looking forward to in the new year?
I want to get up one hour earlier to have more time to have fun - and I want to make a videoclip for Madonna.
Really?
Well, I can still make it without getting the permission, right?
Anything else you’d like to say?
To all the PingMag readers and PingMag staff: I wish you wild and crazy ideas with good music in the background - always!
