What can we expect of a couple so deeply in love that they spend every single day together - 24/7 - starting from their very first kiss like 10 years ago? A clear message: LOVE IS POWER!

Loulou and Pollux aka Luluxpo are from a small city: Geneva in Sweetzerland. This is the place where their magically colored fairylike atelier provides them with enough free space to transform their mission into fashion, graphics, installations, paintings, performances and music last but not least. It’s a lovely life story turned to art.

Your love story is the core of everything you do. Would you mind telling me how you first met and what was so special about it?

Pollux: We first caught a glimpse of each other in Geneva. I was based in Paris working as a tour manager for a reggae/funk group called Human Spirit that came to play in Geneva for a day. Loulou was staying at the same hotel but taking care of the hotel client’s children. When we had to leave again and all of the musicians were already on the bus, I stopped it only to go back to the hotel and give my phone number to this beautiful stranger. I will never forget this moment - it came and went in a flash. Life sometimes depends on such little things! Without this seemingly small action we would never have seen each other again!

Loulou: A few months later I called him and our first date took place. Since then we never left one another - not even for more than an hour. For the last ten years we have been together 24/7.

How would you describe what you do? Would you call yourselves DJ’s, painters, fashion design, event organizers, performers…?

Your concept “Love Is Power!” is your credo. How would you define this philanthropic approach? And how do you pass it on?

Loulou & Pollux: “Love Is Power!” is to illustrate the force that you feel when you have found your soul mate and you are crazy in love. It is the basic reflex. We made Love our religion and we want to share it with as many people as possible, like being “love messengers”. To convey our message we use a maximum of artistic and media support. It almost functions like a brand but its purpose is to bring a little comfort to people who need it.

“Love Is Power!” is also a parallel universe where we live our everyday lives. Even if we constantly stay tuned with what is going on in the rest of the world, we still have our artistic universe to return to as our sanctuary.

Which of all your media output would you call the most “efficient” way to get to people?

Loulou & Pollux: They all are effective: What they all have in common is love. For example DJing gives us the chance to spread our message through music, by feelings experienced through your body while dancing. This is a moment when people can let themselves go all evening… and morning! Mixing also allows us to reach a large audience at once, like in some state of osmosis.

Using visual arts is an approach directed more towards the visual and the aesthetic, which is appealing to the eye. Fashion is more practical - and pretty, of course. Now that we got a baby we also do more kids’ fashion.

What are your individual strengths? Who takes care of what in your collaboration?

Loulou: Above all, we are completely complementary. When it comes to music the expert is Pollux! He has a very broad musical knowledge and is the one who orders our music from the internet. While performing Pollux is the one that mixes and manages the vinyl selections while I take care of the beats (like a real Swiss clock!) and the movement in the rhythm (which comes from my Argentinian roots). Regarding the bookings, it is also Pollux’s responsibility, as he is an ex-tour manager after all! I am the one in charge of business matters as well as the fashion part, with a little help from Pollux.

When it comes to our art, it is both of us together. These are very special moments for us, like a deep breath of oxygen in our fast paced days.

You have your own music label and various collaborations. Could you tell me a little bit about that?

Pollux: After a small detour working with the Parisian label ProZak Trax we are currently collaborating with a music label in Geneva, Mental Groove Records. I used to tour with quite a few artists from the French scene like FF.Human Spirit. After Luluxpo’s first track was finished we started “Festif Orchestra”, a collaboration with musician buddies I had the most connection to. We are now preparing an album that’s not only electronic but also acoustic.

Under the name of “Plastique de Lux” we worked on a project with Plastique de Rêve - that was a moment of pure happiness. We used to mix quite often at the same parties when he was still in Geneva and we wanted to immortalize that time in music.

You are also very engaged in the community life with the Paidos project, a workshop for kids set up by Loulou’s brother. What is working with children like for you? And what do you do in those workshops?

Loulou & Pollux: Children are actually the first addressee of our love message. We feel both very disgusted to see so many children suffering in the world, so for the moment we propose workshops for political refugee children. In the future we would also like to work more on projects dedicated to childhood.

Helping children to develop their artistic side is our biggest passion. We want them to have fun and to let themselves experience different ways of artistic expression. It is not any different from adult parties in the way that we give them access to relaxation through music and some moments of bliss in their “rough world”. We have fun, we party!

From kids’ parties to adult parties - what are your “Pink Palace” events all about? And could events maybe be your ultimate art form combining music, visuals, performance, and fashion?

Pollux: The name “Pink Palace” refers to the “Palace” of Paris that was a magic place to party: full of different people from the chairman to the Punk, all with the same desire to have fun. “Happy People Only!”

When we organize our “Pink Palace” events, it is our opportunity to mix all our artistic media with the music we play and create an entire universe radiating even more Love. Giant discoballs, pink drapes, pink neon, black lights, smoke, projections… We also have dancers customized in Luluxpo. We try to pull some people together with a similar sensitivity, the same sensuality.

What are your future projects and dreams?

Coming back to Tokyo and stay for a while, maybe even regularly, is a new dream!!! For the short term we want to start our event driven venues called “Pink Palace” again, which we had to leave aside for almost two years now. Having done one in Barcelona shortly after our CCCB opening party with guest Luciano and another one in Paris with guest Plastique de Rêve, we should now organize a new one in Geneva, followed by Lausanne, and for more remote destinations hopefully Tokyo will not be excluded.
