PingMag Party in Pictures

arrows pointing to the event from Harajuku station

This article is a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported our event at Yoyogi Park: all the artists performing, all the organizers sweating and running, all IMGSRC staff designing and selling T-Shirts and making visuals and of course all our guests dancing and having fun!

THANK YOU ALL!

For those of you who couldn’t make it, here are some pictures and some movies to give you all a little bit of the feeling of this very successful sunny Sunday!

Wakako and Nishina in our PingMag T-shirt tent setting up

soundcheck! already some fans chilling in front of the stage

L?K?O and U-ZHAAN performing

L?K?O and U-ZHAAN were the first to play and started with some very chilled out tunes - perfect for sun, green trees, a cool beer and a light breeze… Here is a little sound and mood sample!

L?K?O and U-ZHAAN packing up

backstage mess in its initial state

nice backstage black board with notes on it

T shirt booth. Which size is right for you?

Cal from the FALLOPIAN DISCO FORCE rocking on

Vinnie came straight from NY to perform with FALLOPIAN DISCO FORCE (that was a pretty crazy show! Great!!!) Here he relaxes after his performance. Notice the BLING-BLING around his neck?

True custom-made BLING-BLING by Remy, who spent some of his artistic talent and time with gold-paint! I love it!

guests creating their own little concert on the side

In addition to some yummy organic food we organized, the park-food-stand-people all moved over and helped out! Here a proper Yaki-Soba stand

guests making bubbles

another lovely food-stand - this one being for Kakigori

lovely guests: Aya and Lucinda

girl-talk in front of the stage

EDO ECHO SOUNDSYSTEM

Another round of great performers! Again, a little demo-movie here. Please forgive the bad quality!

more and more people gathering

Breakthrough! The first dancers ignoring the architectural barrier, jumping over and dancing directly in front of the stage.

Rio and K - some PingMag friends in the front row

Remy DJing in between acts

Coppe warming up by singing A - I - U - E - O - O - O - O….

LEGOFRIENDLY (Stan and Peter Slade - the two gentlemen turning the knobs on the left) COPPE (with her sweet voice) and COD HEAD (ubiquitous sounds from the far right)

A little demo movie of the 5 performers here.

Cal and Remy - two of a crew of lovely organizers - counting drink tickets. Notice Cal’s very very sweaty back! He definitely gave it all for us! Thank you!

JIMANICA and ITOKEN drumming away

JIMANICA and ITOKEN - what a cool performance duo! Amazingly hard and melodic drums - impossible to stand still! Little demo here.

…taking a little nap.

getting darker and L?K?O performing once more

Mood-sample here.

time for visuals!

Maekawa, Masuda and Mike performing the first time together! It wasn’t really dark enough to see most of the files they prepared, which was a real shame. Still - everyone enjoyed some more visual stimulation! Thank you guys!!!

GOMA warming up his didgeridoo backstage

NIGHTJUNGLE warming up

A little movie of rehearsing backstage here. (Forgive me! I filmed it upright… I think the heat must have been melting my brain away….)

GOMA DA DIDGERIDOO and NIGHT JUNGLE performing

Obviously the people liked it! Quite a crowd gathering up! Another little film available here.

crowd getting bigger and louder

Who might be up next?

And now ladies and gentlemen: this is what you have been waiting for! Tucker - the crazy performer, who actually finished off his act with a bleeding head, cause he was throwing himself around so wildly! An unfortunately very very dark little sample from the beginning of his show here.

Tucker! This is what many have been waiting for!

Tucker switching from keys to strings to mic…

everybody filming!

literally!

Whaaaaaa! So many came!

Shirt off! Tucker going wild!

Tucker floating in the crowd..

…and curling up on his organ!

Aaaand finish! Time to go home, everyone!

Otsukaresama! a happy VJ crew packing up

sweet Regina Komesu supporting Ping with her smile

PingMag Chiemi still having fun!

Thank you again everyone!

Special thanks to the production efforts of the Test Tone crew and extra special thanks to Eiji F. Morotomi and his event crew Amanojax - who made the whole party possible!

If you enjoyed this, maybe worth checking out what else TestTone is up to! They have a monthly event at SDLX with similar quirky artists!

Thanks to all the food and drink people! (especially the super yummy curry!) Also thanks to Jan Chipchase and Jon for photos (and everybody else who sends us their photos/links in the next days). More images to come on our Flickr gallery soon! For more info about artists please visit the official TestTone party info page.

Ps. If all works out, most of the event’s music can be heard on Samurai FM soon! We will keep you posted!

UPDATE: Now even more images posted on our Flickr Gallery!
