The PingMag PingBack Vol.2

Welcome to our PingMag PingBack Vol.2 - meaning to send a big THANK YOU to all nice people out there, who kindly linked to us and encouraged us to write more and more and more….. Besides that, we will also share some PingMag- gossip with you today! Well, not really! Just informing you about a few new things!

So - first of all THANKS TO YOU - readers and people spreading the word!

Unfortunately, we can’t mention all lovely people linking to us (But if you do want to find more PingMag referrers, here is a good place to start looking: http://technorati.com/search/www.pingmag.jp.

But here is a small selection:

Starting with our “frequent linkers”:

Regine from we-make-money-not-art picking up our news

and also Jean from jeansnow.net, who recently also started writing for Ping!

Big thanks also to the other sites linking to PingMag such as

k10k

Neta

core77

wellvetted

archinet

anchor222

swissmiss

and videoboys …..

Thanks for your broad interest in all kinds of subjects!

Personally, I enjoyed finding a trackback from pet blog - who picked up our article about dog fashion! They had some pretty funky animal gadgets on their site, too!

Amongst a wide range of different referrers we discovered a certainly very stylish sex blog which picked up the strange paintings of Kumi Machida. Oooh! Now here is my favorite image of their site: the strange artwork by Karin Frank.

We get a few people asking us for permissions to use parts of PingMag for articles in their magazines e.g. the Korean lifestyle magazine GaGu. That is very charming and works well.

Just today, we got sent the latest issue of the Taiwanese EGG magazine which asked us to use our images of the Omotesando Hills pre-opening for an article. You should check out this magazine - it is beautiful!

However, we also traced an example of how not to do it: the Chinese magazine 360˚ just went ahead and copied our entire Doraemon Shop article - including images - without telling us a word! Now - that’s a bit rude, don’t your think!?

After all, I deeply want to thank all those lovely people who replied to our emergency call:”Writers wanted!”. We received such lovely emails from people all over the world wanting to contribute to PingMag. THANK YOU!

Please excuse me for not being able to reply to them all (still in the process of answering many of them)! We made a first selection, so you will hopefully soon be able to read some more articles from different locations and new people reporting for us!

Kyoko had her last Ping-day on Friday and sends her love to all of her fans! The very lucky news is, that she still managed to say hello to our new charming lady on board: Chiemi! A warm welcome to this new bi-lingual PingMag member!

Chiemi - our new staff!

Thanks to all of you!

  3. Wow, thats really dissapointing that 360 thought they could just cop a whole article. On the flip side immitation is the highest form of flattery :)
I hope you’ve called em up and given their editor a good tongue lashing. Talk about unprofessional.
