The Nuit Blanche happens in Paris every year, where all kind of museums, galleries, event spaces are open to the public all night with artists, DJs, performers…. THE night of the night, so to say. I joined the Nuit Blanche at Couronne on October 1st from 7 pm untill 7am to help Andrea crews with her performance. During those 12 hours five fashion shows were set up on a catwalk of 50 meters length. Andrea casted her models for the show right from the street. There were a lot of volunteers!!! All were dressed with on - the - spot - made - couture coming from a gigantic pile exciting out of 5000 kilogram of secondhand clothes. The Andrea Crews cut, ripped, stiched, fixed and created new fashion out of old jackets, shirts, trousers, socks … you name it - within one hour simply equipped with a pair of scissors, safety pins and tape. For me it was a feeling as if I was painting with clothes.
The outcome was a “tablaux vivant” of colourful creation and original fashion. It was supergeniousgreat and the audience loved it!
