When strolling through the back streets of Ebisu, I made the aquaintance of a giant octopus in the middle of a playground. This huge concrete animal is certainly the best out of all those stone painted animals I’ve come across so far. Look at those shapes! I wonder if there is such a thing like a “playground animal designer”? Who makes all these colorful creatures spread all over Tokyo? I even came across a “rip-off” of those desirable stone animals: two pandas made out of plastic to attract kids- in front of a restaurant in Musashi- Kosugi.

Where is this? I’m in Hiro-o, and I’ve been trying to find some cool playgrounds for my daughter.
(There IS the toy robots playground connected to Roppongi Hills residences, right next to the Roppongi Lutheran Church…)

if you walk from ebisu station towards hiroo, that playground is close to the river and BEFORE you cross that big street… not a big describer. kind of diagonal from ebisu to hiroo… oh dear! write me a mail and i will send you a mapion link, if you need one (i tried pasting it in here, but than the superlong link goes over all the pages ;-)

I know that one… was one of my son’s favourites… there is a smaller version, not so big and colou-red, next amerika-bashi, Ebisu Garden Place…
this one is definitely better

The “litte red… squirrel?” is either a seal with a ball, or an otter. But I think it’s a seal. :3
