Takyua Chikushi- Illuminations

20 Jul 2005 Category: Events & Exhibitions, Japan

Japanese photographer Takuya Chikushi is currently (June 25 -July 20) exhibiting 12 new works under the theme “Illuminations” at the Zeit- Foto- Salon, one of the oldest galleries in Tokyo. His photographs have a very beautiful, magical and mystical feel about them. In fact, all he does is to find the right spot & angle, take his photo and then flip it upside down. Looking at his works, immediately the question arouses: what software does he use to modify his images? The answer is: none! Takuya makes true prints from negatives as they are. His very simplistic approach proves the skilled eye of an artist, who can still fascinate through beauty and mystery with a simple image- taken the traditional way.
